MARS Privacy Policy
MARS Respects Your Privacy
Your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting it. MARS is providing this statement to inform you of our privacy policy and practices. This notice applies to all information submitted or collected on the Mini Aussie Rescue & Support, Inc. (MARS) website.
MARS uses personal information to better understand your needs; to determine your eligibility for adoption or volunteering; to keep you informed of organizational events; and to improve the content and use of our website. Personal information is any information that is associated with your name or personal identity. Once you choose to provide us with personal information, it will only be used to support your relationship with MARS. We do not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to anyone without your written permission.
Suppliers and service providers, such as veterinarians, are required to keep confidential the information received on behalf of MARS and may not use it for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for MARS. These service providers may change or we may contract with additional service providers to expand or improve our services.
What We Collect
On the MARS website, you can make donations, request an adoption, participate as a volunteer, make information requests, sign up to receive news and information from us, or otherwise communicate with us. We collect: (1) the email addresses of those who communicate with us by email; (2) aggregate statistics about which web pages visitors access; and (3) information volunteered by visitors such as data submitted in the adoption or surrender process, volunteer applications, post-placement questionnaires, survey responses, or contest entries. Credit card information is not stored in our database.
By the use of this website you consent to the collection and use of your email address and other contact information you provide by MARS. We use email addresses to answer the email received, to send out an electronic newsletter, and to notify you of any rescue information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of the delivery of future newsletters or promotional email from MARS by following the specific instructions in the email you receive. Or you can remove your name from the MARS mailing list by sending an email to subscribe@miniaussierescue.org and putting the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
Requests for service, support or information may be forwarded as needed to best respond to a specific request. We may retain emails and other information sent to us for our internal administrative purposes, and to help us to serve you better. On occasion, feedback made in the form of comments may be made public, but only with your permission, and you may opt out of such use.
MARS is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children. Our website does not target children and MARS does not knowingly solicit personal information from children or send them requests for personal information.
Surveys and Contests
From time to time we may invite you to provide information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether to disclose requested contact information (such as name and mailing address) and demographic information (such as zip code or household information). In addition to other uses set forth in this policy, contact information collected in connection with surveys and contests is used to notify the winners and award prizes, and to monitor or improve the use and satisfaction of the MARS website.
Mailing List
When you subscribe to the MARS mailing list your contact information is stored on a personal computer. Reasonable effort is made to protect the information stored on the computer but MARS and its volunteers do not warrant the safety of the information since the computer is NOT a secure server at this time. You may stop the delivery of future newsletters or promotional email from MARS by following the specific instructions in the email you receive. The instructions explain how to stop receiving such emails. Or you can remove your name from the MARS mailing list by sending an email to subscribe@miniaussierescue.org and putting the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
